The contributions to this special issue explore the potential of visual art to help us rethink political dilemmas and find peaceful ways of approaching them. The special issue is divided into two sections. The first focuses on the work of the Australian artist David Rankin. It features an interview with Mr Rankin and extracts from a book about his work by one of America’s most prominent art historians, Dore Ashton.
